Lyle was born in Red Oak,Iowa,on August 20, 1907. He was the son of John LeRoy ("Roy L.) Moore (1882-Iowa to 1917-Nebraska) and Cora Myrtle (Hinman)-1884 - Iowa -1967 - Nebraska). He grew up in Elliot, Iowa, with his grandparents,William and Mary Hinman. His grandfather was a barber and in those days one could also take baths at the barber shop and it was Lyle's job to wash the towels. In high school he played football and one team his high school played was the school for the deaf and blind in Atlantic, Iowa (they beat his team). He graduated from Chilacothe, MO, Business College. On March 25, 1943, he married Henrietta Margaret Becker, in Omaha, Nebraska. Shortly after that they moved to Arizona and their first home was a cabin on the side of South Mountain in Laveen, Arizona. It was here that their son was born. Lyle, known as "Fox" was an employee of Phoenix Title and Trust in Phoenix. In 1952 he and his family moved to Yuma, AZ. where he lived for the rest of his life. They originally lived in an apartment at the Casa Lida Apartments and later on 9th Ave. before moving to the home he would live in for the rest of his life. He loved fishing and often went down to Riverside Park at midnight to go fishing because he said it was the best time to fish. He also loved to play golf and was in several tournaments. He loved the Arizona State University Sun Devil football team so much that he was made him an honorary alumni of ASU. He worked for Phoenix Title and Trust in Yuma across from the County Courthouse. Transamerica bought the company and they moved to the Crescent Center. He was highly respected in the community and a member of First United Methodist Church. On July 2, 1972, Lyle died at Parkview Baptist (now YRMC) Hospital of cancer (the result of years of smoking). He was cremated and his ashes buried here. On November 24, 2008, his wife, Henrietta, finally joined him. He had been waiting a long time (36 years) for her. He was a wonderful, kind, and intelligent person whom every one liked.
